The 7-11 Gourmet Part 5 Hot Chorizo Sandwiches

So years ago I lost my drivers license and couldnt go anywhere. Ill cop to driving my Jeep to the smACME Market at night but once the snows and ice came I could only walk up to the 7-11 to get food, so this is how this series came about...

You too can create a nutritious "Gourmet" meal from things commonly sold at 7-11, in a pinch, if 7-11 is the only place around...
4 Hot Dogs
3 Hot Taco flavor Slim Jims long ones

1 t paprika powder
3 T vinegar
1/2 t oregano

One pack hot dog rolls
1 garden salad, shredded (tomatoes halved or chopped)
Sour cream
4 cheese sticks

Pulse hot dogs and Slim Jims in a food processor (or chop very fine)
Put in a bowl and add the vinegar and spices and let sit 30 mins.

Meanwhile open the buns and lay flat and roll out with a wine bottle or rolling pin or simply press down with your hands, til flatter but not totally squished. Toast in a toaster over or broiler (watch them carefully) until lightly golden. set aside on a plate in a single layer.

Chop or shred the cheese sticks.

Fry the hot dog/slim jim mixture in a frying pan until seared and crispy on edges, breaking it apart as it fries.
Drain onto paper towels.

Lay the buns on a baking sheet and layer salad, chorizo, then cheese on each one and broil until the cheese melts. Serve with well stirred sour cream...

Add hot sauce if more kick is desired.
