Retro Recipe Redo #17 Savory Mochi Bread With Tuna Pastrami And Wasabi Sour Cream Sauce



Its a new spin on an old Jewish favorite
Savory Mochi Bread With Tuna Pastrami And Wasabi Sour Cream Sauce

Bread

8 oz Mochiko
  3 Eggs
1/2 stick Butter, melted
1/2 T Baking Powder 
1/2 cups + 2 T FF Milk (or Coconut BEVERAGE milk)
2 T cup Sushi Vinegar
1/4 cup water
1/2 t Salt

Preheat oven to 375oF

Grease a Loaf Pan

Mix all of the above together till smooth, pour into the pan and bake for an hour, Cool
Cut into slices

 
Tuna Pastrami
 
3 fillets of sushi grade tuna
3 T cracked pepper
2 T ground pickling spice
1 T salt 
1 T sugar

Mix the spices in a small bowl then
place all in a plastic bag and put in the fridge overnight

Remove the tuna from the fridge and scrape off SOME of the spices.
Heat a pan to high and cook each side 1 minute, flip, cook another minute. remove to a plate and when cool, slice thinly, diagonally

Sauce

2-4 T Wasabi Paste
Sour Cream
Mayo
Dash onion powder
Salt

mix, taste, adjust

Assemble sandwiches
Bread, 
Wasabi sauce.
Tuna Pastrami, 
Lettuce.

Enjoy
