Retro Recipe Redo #10 Japanese Inspired Tuna Salisbury Steak

Retro Recipe Redo #10 Japanese Inspired Tuna Salisbury Steak

1/2 cup Cream of Rice cereal
2 cups water
1 t salt

Place all in a plastic bowl and stir, microwave 2 mins, stir, microwave another 3 mins, stir. When its thickened like Polenta, remove.

1 pound raw tuna steaks
1/4 cup Wasabi Peas
1/4 cup Sushi Ginger
2 T Soy Sauce
1/4 cup Mirin

Place all the above In a food processor and process until smooth and then spoon into a bowl. Put on plastic gloves, spray them with cooking spray and mix in

1/2 Cup Panko Bread Crumbs

Make 4 Egg shaped flat patties and fry in a little oil in a medium heat pan, 3 mins each side until golden brown and firm (unless you want your tuna burger medium rare)
Remove and keep warm.

1-1/2 cup Water
1/2 t Dashi Stock powder
2 T Soy Sauce
2 T Mirin
1/2 t salt

Place all of the above in the pan, bring to a boil, then whisk in

1 T Potato or Corn Starch
2 T water

It will instantly thicken. Turn of heat.

Serve each "steak" over some cream of rice, with "gravy" and Finely Shredded Cabbage on the side.
Sprinkle with sesame seeds and chopped scallions
