Its cake and bread in one
Buttery, Rich Yeasted Vanilla Cake

1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup water
1 stick butter, cut up
2 T sugar
1 t salt
Bring the above to a boil over high heat, then, all at once, add
1 cup flour
Stir vigorously until it turns into a ball. Then transfer to a stand mixer then beat in
6 eggs, one at a time

And beat til it comes together. Stir in
1-1/2 cups sugar
1 t baking powder
Vanilla
Pour into a large bowl...Set aside...
 Then in that same bowl
Put

2 T sugar
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup warm water
Stir to dissolve the sugar, then stir in

2 packs fast rise yeast

Let it proof for 10 minutes then using the dough hooks, "knead" in

2 cups flour
2 T wheat gluten
"Knead" for 5-8 minutes until  its just a little sticky, but mostly not.

Take the time NOW to grease and flour two square cake pans.

When the dough is finished kneading, pour in the EGGY mixture and beat vigorously until it IS SMOOTH.

Then, beat in

1 stick butter, softened

Until its lumpy with flecks of butter.

Then pour into the pans and place in TURNED OFF OVEN WITH JUST THE LIGHT ON>

Let rise in the oven for 1 hour then turn it on to 350oF, with the cakes still inside and bake for

30-50 mins until it springs back in the center (tenting with foil if it gets too brown)

Note: While creating this recipe, I failed to turn the timer on so I dont know how long it baked.
