Fried Chicken Oreos

pic source unknown

YAY! I made the recipe!

A few months ago the pic above "leaked" to the interwebs. Average Janes and Joes everywhere groaned. "GROSSSSS!" Those average J&Js said.
But FOODIES everywhere delighted! "OMG I NEED THIS IN MY BELLY!" Foodies exclaimed...
Shortly afterwards the pic was outted as a hoax, Nabisco said "NO, we are not making these!"
and Foodies everywhere cried!

Well, I decided to create them for Foodies everywhere!

Fried Chicken Oreos

For the cookies:

1/2 tub Empire Chicken Fat
1 cup flour
 1/4 cup sugar
1/2 t salt
1/4 t pepper
2 dashes paprika
1 egg

Cream  sugar and chicken fat together, add salt, pepper, paprika and egg.mix till creamy and combined, add flour and mix till combined. Spoon into a Ziplock bag and roll out till it completely covers the inside of bag. place on flat cookie sheet and place in freezer till firm

When the dough is firm, leave in the fridge and wait till the oven has preheated to 350.
Working quickly, bring the dough out still on cookie sheet and cut all 4 sides of the Ziplock bag off, and remove top plastic sheet...then use a cookie cutter to cut  rounds out of dough and quickly place on non stick cookie sheet and bake till crisp. Remove and cool completely before filling. You may have to repeatedly rechill the dough to get perfect rounds while cutting,
Bake for 10 to 13 mins or until the edges gets slightly brown.

For filling:

1/2 cup chicken crumbs, pulverized in a Vitamix (see note at bottom)
4 soupspoons Spectrum Organic shortening
1/2 t Salt

Cream all together and spread in between cookies.

Eat all cookies immediately.
They dont keep well.

Note:Buy Tyson Crispy Chicken Strips and save the crumbs from the bottom of the bag to make 1/2 cup crumbs
