All Vegan Biscuits And Country Gravy
1 block extra firm tofu, crumbled
OR
1 block Pacific Seitan, shaved
1/2 t Marmite
OR
1 block Pacific Seitan, shaved
1/2 t Marmite
1 T browning
1/3 cup boiling water
1/3 cup boiling water
Melt the Marmite and browning in a bowl with the boiling water, add all of the following
1/2 t salt
Dash dried parsley
1-1/2 t sage
Dash dried parsley
1-1/2 t sage
1/2 t black pepper
1/8th t thyme
Dash red pepper flakes
1/8th t ground coriander
1/8th t thyme
Dash red pepper flakes
1/8th t ground coriander
1/2 t sugar
Mix thoroughly and then ad the Tofu or seitan, mix thoroughly and refrigerate overnight.
Make the Biscuits
Preheat oven to 400F
2 cups self rising flour
1 can coconut CREAM (you wont use it all)
1 t salt
Mix together the flour, salt and coconut cream together s little at a time until you have a soft dough, Grease a cookie sheet and drop Billiard Ball Sized balls on the sheet and bake until fluffy and golden brown. About 20 mins
Make the gravy
2 cups prepared BETTER THAN MILK soy milk (with 2 T more mix added)
4 T flour
4 T Smart Balance vegan butter
Salt and Pepper
Melt the smart balance in a pot over medium heat, add the flour and cook it till bubbly, WHISK in the milk while pouring it in, to make a smooth thickened gravy, season with salt and pepper , taste, then add the vegan sausage, and heat thru, split the biscuits and serve on a plate with the gravy poured over.
