Restaurant Recreations #6 Bland Farms Chocolate Cake With A Shocking Secret Ingredient
Years ago when Vidalia Sweet Onions first showed up on the market, the company that put them out, Bland Farms, had a catalogue that sold onions and other onion containing items. One was this cake.
Instead of the applesauce some bakers add to replace SOME of the butter or oil, they added pureed Vidalia Onions. Well, me and my ex bought that cake and lemme tell you it was GOOOOOOOOOOOD!.
You could NOT taste the onion at all! So I figured since because they dont make it anymore, Ill try and recreate it, myself.
The only thing Im not doing the same as the original is making the frosting out of LARD. Im going to be using BUTTER.
